You can easily reserve your spot directly through the website, and you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details.

We offer a wide range of cycling tours all around Portugal. From short scenic rides of just a few hours to multi-day adventures up to 8 days long. You can choose from mountain bike (MTB), gravel, or road bike tours depending on your style and preference.
Tours can be self-guided, private, or completely bespoke, designed to fit your pace, interests, and schedule.
ach tour is designed for a specific bike type — gravel, road, or mountain bike (MTB) — and this is always mentioned on the tour detail page.
Some road tours can be done with a gravel bike, but please let me know in advance if you plan to bring one so I can confirm it’s a good fit for the route.
If you're unsure, feel free to ask and I’ll help you choose the best option for the terrain.
Mostly yes! All of our tours include a detailed difficulty level, so you can choose the one that best matches your experience and fitness. If you're not sure whether a tour is right for you, feel free to contact me so you can share your Strava profile or tell me about your usual rides, and I’ll help you decide.
We always welcome everyone and aim to keep a relaxed, average pace so all riders can enjoy the journey together.
Yes and no. It depends on the tour. Each tour description will tell you whether you need to bring your own bike or if a rental is included or available as an option.
If you’re unsure, just reach out and I’ll help you figure out the best setup for your ride.
Yes! Any tour you see on the website can be made private, or we can create a completely custom tour just for you or your group.
Whether it’s a special route, a certain region, or a unique experience you're looking for, I can design it based on my 6 years of cycling adventures across Portugal. Just get in touch and we’ll plan something unforgettable.
Absolutely! I can create a fully custom tour tailored to your preferences, travel dates, budget, bike type, and group size.
If needed, I can also arrange van and driver support for your convenience and recommend appropriate insurance options to keep your trip safe and stress-free.
Yes, we offer airport pick-up service. Just be sure to mention it when you book your tour so we can arrange everything for you.
We book bike-friendly, budget-conscious, and non-chain accommodations that reflect the local charm of each region. This includes locally owned guesthouses, rural hotels, and 2 to 4-star boutique stays, depending on the tour route and your preferences.
Our goal is to offer you a comfortable and authentic experience whether it's a night in a countryside vineyard, a coastal guesthouse, or a small mountain village inn all while keeping things affordable and cyclist-friendly.
It depends on the tour. Some include breakfast, lunch, or a traditional dinner, while others give you the freedom to explore local restaurants on your own.
We always stop at cafés, bakeries, and local spots for meals or snacks during the ride so you’ll get to enjoy authentic Portuguese food, from fresh bread and cheese to regional specialties. If you have dietary restrictions, just let me know when booking and we’ll take care of it.
If you have allergies, are vegetarian, vegan, or follow a specific diet, I’ll make sure we stop at places that can serve you properly just please let me know when booking, so I can plan accordingly.
Luggage transfer is not automatically included, but it can be arranged upon request.
The cost depends on the destination, number of days, and size of the group. If you’d like your bags transported between accommodations, just let me know when booking and I’ll organize it for you.
Usually, no — support vehicles are not included by default.
However, if you’d like to have a support van for extra comfort, mechanical backup, or luggage transport, it can be arranged depending on the trip. Just mention it when booking and I’ll give you the options and costs based on your route and group size.
If you’re unable to complete a segment of the ride, don’t worry! We always adapt to your needs:
Support van available: You can rest comfortably in the van until the group reaches the next stop.
No support van: We'll try to arrange public transport like a bus or train if it's feasible.
The pace is relaxed and inclusive, never competitive and rest assured, everyone is supported, and you’ll reach the destination at your own speed.
I always carry essential tools and spare parts to fix the most common issues on the road from flat tires to basic gear or brake problems.
If the issue is more complex, we’ll do our best to fix it together using our combined experience. If needed, we can stop at a local bike shop along the route.
In the rare case of something more serious like a broken rear dropout or a part we can't replace on the spot, we’ll find a solution to get you to the destination, even if that means continuing without pedaling (using a van or public transport).
Yes, Portugal is generally bike-friendly, especially outside the big cities. There are many quiet national and regional roads with little traffic, and I always plan routes that avoid busy areas whenever possible.
That said, not all drivers strictly follow cycling laws, so it’s important to stay alert. I’ll guide you on how to ride safely in any situation and share tips to handle sections where we may briefly need to use main roads.
Yes, wearing a helmet is required by law when cycling outside of urban areas in Portugal.
For safety reasons, I won’t start any tour without a helmet. It’s essential to protect yourself, especially on longer rides.
Yes, you’ll find bike lanes in some cities, like Lisbon, and we use them as much as possible when riding through urban areas.
However, outside the cities, bike lanes are uncommon. In those areas, we ride on the road and share it with cars but I always plan routes using quiet, low-traffic roads to keep things safe and relaxed.
No, travel insurance isn’t required but it’s a good idea to have it, especially if you're doing a multi-day or more adventurous ride.
It can help cover things like unexpected medical expenses, trip cancellations, or even lost luggage. If you already have insurance, check that it includes cycling. If not, I can recommend some options when you book.
Yes, most trains in Portugal accept bikes except for the Alfa Pendular (high-speed) trains. However, there are some rules to follow, such as reserved spaces and specific boarding procedures.
I’ve explained all the details in this post: Traveling with Your Bike on Portuguese Trains.
For boats and ferries, bikes are usually allowed unless the ferry is very busy or has reached its bike capacity even if there’s room for passengers. It’s always good to check in advance when planning your trip.
If you choose a guided tour, I — Sadeq from SadeqBikes — will be your guide.
You can learn more about me on the About Me page and check out my adventures on Instagram or Strava. Over the past 6 years, I’ve cycled more than 50,000 km across Portugal on road, gravel, and MTB and I love sharing the best routes, hidden gems, and local experiences with fellow riders.
I speak English, Portuguese, and Persian. So you’ll feel comfortable and well-supported throughout the tour.Any flights you take during your Contiki are included in the cost of your trip. Particularly in regions like Asia, Australia or South America, we use planes to get you from A-to-B as quickly as possible, and all of this is included. Check out our full booking conditions for more information on what’s included and what’s not.
Yes, absolutely. As an endurance cyclist, I can help you improve your riding position, pacing, and energy management for long-distance rides. I also share tips on local nutrition, hydration, and recovery strategies everything I’ve learned from cycling thousands of kilometers across Portugal.
The goal is to help you ride smarter, feel stronger, and enjoy your time on the bike even more.
Contiki social travel trips have a large degree of flexibility built into them to enable you to truly own your experience. This means that some trip elements are not included in the initial cost and may require additional budgeting.
Flights to and from your starting and ending points are not included in the cost of your trip. These can be added on during the booking process either online or via our contact center or booked independently by you.
Each trip contains the right amount of free time for you to explore or indulge your travel desires. We offer Free Time Add-Ons, which are additional experiences that are not included in the overall price. These add ons are highlighted on the specific trip page. Your Trip Manager will highlight these to you and organise their booking on trip. Exceptions may apply where pre booking is required but this will be made known to you in your pre departure information.
A number of meal times are left open for you to explore a region and its foodie offerings in greater detail, so budgeting for your taste in non-catered meals is important.
Travel insurance and visas are also not included in the cost of your trip, and should be booked separately.
My tours are focused on much more than just adding kilometers to your profile. I want you to experience Portugal deeply to connect with its landscapes, culture, food, and local people, far beyond the usual tourist routes.
Every route is designed by me based on 6 years and over 50,000 km of cycling across Portugal. This isn’t a tour created by someone behind a desk it’s made by someone who truly knows the country from the saddle.
I promise to do my best to give you an unforgettable memory something real, meaningful, and unique that you’ll cherish every time you think back on your ride.
You’ll need to pay the full amount at the time of booking, unless otherwise stated on the specific tour details page. Some private or custom tours may offer a deposit option, but this will always be clearly mentioned.
I’ll always do my best to help you reschedule if something comes up. However, rescheduling may not always be possible, especially for multi-day tours that involve hotel bookings or third-party reservations.
If you’re unsure about your plans, I highly recommend getting travel insurance that covers cancellations or changes.
Yes, most tours require a minimum number of participants. If that minimum isn’t met, I’ll let you know in advance.
You’ll have the option to:
Upgrade to a private tour (at a higher cost),
Reschedule for another date, or
Receive a full 100% refund.
It depends on when you cancel:
More than 30 days before the tour: 90% refund (10% admin fee retained)
14 to 30 days before the tour: 50% refund
Less than 14 days before the tour or no-show: No refund
Note: For multi-day tours with accommodation, refunds depend on the hotel’s cancellation policy. If a hotel charges a non-refundable deposit, that amount will be deducted from your refund. You can read more about our cancellation policy here.
In rare cases like extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances, I may need to cancel a tour. If that happens, you’ll get the option to reschedule or receive a 100% full refund of everything you paid.
